This half-sleeve jacket has a new modern balance created by incorporating different lapel designs on the left and right sides.
This season's theme, “Beyond the haze (unreachable reality),” is inspired by the work of German abstract painter Gerhard Richter and the concepts he tried to express.
We attempted to develop the “arbitrariness” found in his abstract paintings, in which he used a squeegee (a board-like tool used in place of a brush to spread paint).
The jacket, with its randomly selected lapels of different shapes, expresses the new sense of value and beauty that is born in the contingency.
Under his suggestion of “making everything equally important and making everything equally unimportant,” we sought to see if we could equate the act of choosing a newly drawn design with an existing design, and if there could be any uniqueness in it.
This jacket is made of wool-blend textile with a high quality texture, and has a minimalistic appearance, yet it has a beautiful form created by AKIRANAKA's signature cutting.
The boxy silhouette of this lightweight, feather-like jacket can be worn open at the front for a more relaxed look, or wrapped around the body with the included co-woven belt for a more mature, esprit-led look.
This season's iconic artistic piece gives the wearer a rich sensibility and a powerful, one-step-away attitude.
