Semi-wide pants creating a special atmosphere with abstract graphics drawn with a delicate touch.
This season's theme, “The Beauty of Practice Pieces,” was inspired by the impressionist painters active in the mid-19th century, such as Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne, who found beauty in practice pieces (practice art works or preliminary sketches).
By incorporating their expressions into the process of clothing modeling, we explored what beauty really is, and tried to create new expressions based on the idea that beauty in fashion is not only in the finished product, but also in the process of creation and in the unfinished product.
This season's graphic series, titled “Aix,” is named after the southern French town of Esque-en-Provence, where Cézanne developed a perspective that uses micro differences in color, and is symbolic of this season.
The graphics, which were created by developing the “brush tactile division(※)” technique used by the artists, express the power of color itself and a new value of beauty through abstract composition.
By layering similar colors while retaining the texture of the brushstrokes, a sense of three-dimensionality and depth can be achieved.
The subtle touches and colors of this season's contextual feel create a one-of-a-kind presence.
