This season's theme, “Wandering Colors,” was inspired by the works of American abstract painter Mark Rothko and the concepts he tried to express.
Among them, we focused on the perspectives of “wandering colors” and “dialogue of silence” we discovered in his work. We expressed the ‘vitality’ found in his paintings—which he described as “living entities”—and the quiet presence that conveys a sense of silence despite being rendered in multiple colors.
The wool-based mohair loop tweed shag used in this material features beautiful coloration from its multiple layers, allowing the wearer to appreciate new nuances in the delicate coloring that appears on the surface.
The body is a minimal double-breasted coat, yet it embodies AKIRANAKA's signature individuality in the balance of the lapels and the form of the raglan sleeves. It is a piece that fully showcases the brand's expertise in cutting techniques.
