Each stitch is carefully knitted by hand by skilled craftsmen. Thread knitting—the method used for this piece—requires advanced skill and is practiced by only a limited number of craftsmen. An icon piece of AKIRANAKA, the Karachi glass beads handknit vest has long been knitted by the same pair of hands.
It is designed to maximize the power of the beads by placing them only on the surface of the knitwear. The unique sparkling glass beads create a luxurious mood that cannot be expressed by textiles, adding color to daily style as if wearing an accessory.
With V-necklines on both the front and back, this model presents a cropped silhouette that follows the body's line. Paired with high-waisted bottoms, the shimmer of the beads and the waistline accentuate each other, while the V at the back adds expression to the rear view.
The piece arrives in a dedicated gift box, accompanied by a certificate of hand-knitting authenticity signed by the artisan and Creative Director NAKA AKIRA.
