Half-sleeve dress with a newly modern balance created by incorporating different lapel designs on the left and right sides.
This season's theme, “Beyond the haze (unreachable reality),” was inspired by the work of German abstract painter Gerhard Richter and the concepts he tried to express.
We attempted to design by developing the “arbitrariness” found in his abstract paintings using a squeegee (a board-like tool used in place of a brush to spread paint).
The dress, in which randomly selected lapels of different shapes on the left and right sides are intentionally crossed into one, expresses new values and beauty created in its contingency.
According to his recommendation to “make everything equally important and everything equally unimportant,” we sought to see if the act of choosing between a newly drawn design and an existing design could be equated, and if there could be any uniqueness in the choice.
The material used is a back satin georgette with a beautifully falling texture, giving it a sophisticated, adult appearance with a certain individuality.
A delicate transparent chiffon belt marks the waist, giving the entire dress a luxe mood.
The buttons, which are not positioned at the front or at the lapel, but are placed in an arbitrary manner, also serve as an original thematic accent, and the attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the garment.
This artistically-inspired piece with this season's airy feel invites the wearer to step out of everyday attire and into an intellectual appearance.
